Paintings en plein air

A french phrase meaning, in open air, plein air painting is a practice that goes back for centuries and presents the challenge of the elements and constant changing light when painting a landscape. To me it is a time to connect with nature in an intimate way. It makes me feel more connected to the land by noticing details, movements, and energies I wouldn't have otherwise.
